Previous Core Training
In 2002/3 this comprised of a Launch, and the Standards and Assessment Course. This covered the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to assess pupils’ developing skills and capability in ICT, and enabled teachers to recognise the national standards in ICT, particularly at levels 4, 5 and 6. This was followed last year (2003/4) by 'Progression into and through Year 9' which considered the Case Studies for Year 9 (based on QCA Units 13, 14 and 15); and 'Year 7 and Transfer' which contained lots of useful ideas for inclusive teaching. Finally in 2004/5 'Increasing pupils' rates of progress in ICT and 'Preparing year 9 pupils for ICT assessment, including tests Parts 1 and 2'. Key messsages from these core courses are available below.
