- Drop
in sessions are
held at ITCAS between 4.00 p.m. aand 6.00 p.m.
for anyone to visit the centre and talk
to the ICT support staff. Dates for these
are sent into schools regularly and posted
onto Ednet.
- The Kirklees email system.
All schools are provided with a set of generic
email accounts, one of which is
for the ICT co-ordinator. All schools have
a generic email account which is ict.schoolname@kirklees-schools.org.uk
and most ICT information is sent to co-ordinators
this email. Further information
about the system is available on Ednet. In
order to find your email user name and
have the password reset contact
ITCAS (860 5724). We strongly recommend that
you use the options in the web mailaccount
to forward email to your own personal
email account.
- Kirklees-Ednet
Support information for ICT is provided on Kirklees-ednet.
The ICT section is organised in four areas,
covering General ICT; Primary ICT, Secondary
ICT and Management Information systems (MIS).
Some pages are password protected. Each school
has a user name and password which can
be obtained by emailing amjad.ahmed@kirklees.gov.uk.
- Software purchases. As
part of the service provided for schools software
can be purchased through ITCAS and schools obtain
a discount on the price. Further information
can be obtained by ringing ITCAS.
- YHGfL Broadband
Kirklees is part of the Yorkshire and Humberside
Grid for Learning for the provision of Broadband
services. Broadband is being rolled out to
schools on a phased programme, covering all
schools during 2005. Technical support information
about Broadband can be found on Kirklee-ednet.
Sophos
anti virus is available to all Kirklees
schools through YHGfL at an extremely low price
and is used by most Kirklees schools. Sophos
can be purchased through ITCAS.
