Whats New...
We are an in-house council resource that provides a range of occupational health services and advice to KMC employees and managers.

The Policy is published in 2 parts
- Part 1 - Sets out ChYPS policy statement of intent, organisation, arrangements and responsibilities.
- Part 2 - Manual of Guidance provides detailed policies and practical advice in the form of guidance notes.

Lynne J Clark is one of the Asset Management Officers within Asset Management in ChYPS. As well as being the link officer for 25 Voluntary Aided schools she also provides advice, support and guidance on Health and Safety to other schools and children's settings.
Lynne also contributes to the development of ChYPS H & S Policy / Guidance Notes, H & S meetings and distribution of information via Ednet, ChYPS matters and CLEAPSS.

Penny Townsend is the Manual Handling Adviser for Children & Young Peoples Service (ChYPS) within Kirklees Council and is located at Civic Centre 1 South, 2nd Floor High Street, Huddersfield HD1 2YU.
The Manual Handling Adviser (MHA) offers advice, guidance and support regarding manual handling issues relating to children and young people with a disability and offers various people manual handling training courses. The MHA will also carry out risk assessments relating to complex people manual handling issues and offers advice on appropriate manual handling equipment and adaptations that may be required for a safer handling environment. The MHA can also offer advice on health promotion relating to back care.

Ian Kirby is the Education Visits Advisor for Children & Young Peoples Service (ChYPS) within Kirklees Council. The EVA has moved from Oldgate House and is now located at 2nd Floor, Civic Centre 1 South, High Street, Huddersfield HD1 2YU.
The Education Visits Advisor (EVA) offers advice, guidance and support regarding off site visits related to children and young people across the whole of ChYPS (0-19). Kirklees Guidelines for Educational Visits, various DCSF documents, specific guidance on, amongst others, charging for visits, latest news and generic risk assessments are placed on Ednet. Training is regarded as an essential part of the EVA's role and is offered to schools, YPS, KEYS and other settings. Aspects covered include risk management and the successful planning and running of trips. In addition I conduct monitoring visits in the field as well as ensuring providers offer good value for money.
