Reviewing Biases and Processes in Geography Teaching
Teaching a contemporary such as Geography is a complex process indeed. This day course will give a chance for reflection on the many distinctive dimensions of the subject (such as the new key concepts for KS3, the place of mapping/GIS, building in the Global Dimension/Citizenship and Sustainability/Green low-carbon Futures, such as Transition Towns).

Whats New...
The Standedge Tunnels are four parallel tunnels that run beneath the Pennines at the traditional Standedge crossing point between Marsden and Diggle, on the edges of the conurbations of West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester respectively, in northern England. The canal tunnel is the longest and oldest of the tunnels, and holds the record as the longest and highest canal tunnel in Britain. Of the railway tunnels, only the tunnel built in 1894 is currently used for rail traffic. Closed in 1943, the canal tunnel was re-opened in May 2001.
Huddersfield's reputation & prosperity was built around the textile industry & its fine woollen worsteds are still sent to customers the world over. The boom created by the textile industry provided a rich legacy of fine Victorian buildings such as the railway station and the town hall, shown here on the right
