Title: School Improvement Officer for Refugee, Asylum Seeker and Traveller Pupils
Role:
- Leading on improving the quality of education and standards of attainment of Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Travellers
- Providing advice and support to EMA funded schools to raise ethnic minority attainment
- Assisting schools to manage change in response to central and local authority initiatives
- Developing links with other council services and external agencies e.g. Surestart, K.A.S.S and Barnardos
- Contributing to the development of Local authority policy and the formulation of guidance and support in the area of Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Travellers
- Contributing to the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on standards and quality in the area of Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Travellers
- Co-ordinating local and national project delivery
- To provide advice support and training to schools to develop and monitor:
- EAL across the curriculum
- Equality through a culturally inclusive and diverse curriculum
- Good practice which raises standards of learning and teaching of Minority Ethnic pupils
