Learning Mentors are a strand of the Excellence in Cities (Excellence Clusters) programme in Kirklees. Learning Mentors are members of school staff whose role is to work with individual and groups of pupils who are experiencing barriers to learning, in order to give them the support they need to succeed in school. Learning Mentors will also work with teachers, parents and carers and other agencies to ensure that the pupil experiences coordinated support.

- Reliable, approachable, non-judgemental and realistic supporter – with pupils, parents and staff
